Growing up in San Antonio's South Side, Julius Cervantes faced formidable challenges, making traditional math courses seem irrelevant. However, during his senior year at Burbank High School, an AP Statistics course taught by Dash Young-Saver changed everything, igniting his passion for data science. Now a first-generation undergraduate studying data science and finance at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Julius advocates for bringing real-world data into math classrooms to inspire others.
