2Sigma School offers FREE hands-on workshops for high school students to expand their knowledge and skills in topics like data science, Python, and Java. Workshops are offered in 2-hour time blocks on Saturdays & Sundays.

Cass Freeman: Decision Trees is a STEM-focused novel that introduces data science through an inspiring story about a teenage girl who uses data to solve real-world problems and save her family's business. Designed for middle and high school readers, the book makes data literacy accessible, empowering students—especially those from underrepresented backgrounds—to see themselves in tech.

Hacking STEM is excited to partner with Blue Origin’s nonprofit, Club for the Future, to highlight how a data science process is used to help determine a Go/No-Go for launch of a Blue Origin New Shepard Rocket. This free and interactive Excel workbook is aligned to NGSS, ISTE, and CSTA learning standards and will guide you through how data scientists engage in a method called the DATA SCIENCE PROCESS to determine safe operating limits that inform important decisions.

Coursera offers full courses taught by leading professors and experts in the field. Courses include lectures and graded assignments, and topics include data science basics, introductions to different programming languages, data visualization, and practical applications. Students can earn academic credits or professional certifications for completing courses.

Crash Course Data Literacy is a 15-video series that explores data literacy fundamentals. By the end of the course, students will be able to define foundational statistical concepts, explain methods for visualizing data, locate datasets, analyze data, and recognize ethical issues connected to data interpretation.

Data Science for All is an introductory data science textbook with accompanying courseware. The only prerequisite is high school algebra. We provide technology support for R, Python, Excel, and Pearson StatCrunch.

This book is an age-inclusive no-coding reference book for data visualization. Each chapter includes exercises (with solutions). It's intended uses range from traditional classroom instruction, homeschooling, and personal enrichment for ages 10+, including adults.

“DataBytes” are quick (30 minutes or less) activities designed for students to engage with data that tells a story. Similar to “number talks,” they invite students to critically analyze and interpret data in ways that connect to their lives and the larger world.
